for 12 horns
Schneider composed Cornissimo for the 225th anniversary of the internationally known company Gebr. Alexander in Mainz who have specialised in the making of brass instruments. Accordingly, the world premiere took place with 225 horns under the open sky. In the 12-part score, the composer first works with soft sound surfaces which are gradually replaced by fanfares and signals, and at the end culminate in a hymn. Enjott Schneider studied music and German studies and is professor of music theory and film composition in Munich. His extensive activities as composer, performer, music writer and lecturer make him a versatile figure of the musical world.
