Commissioned by Kyle Horch for the Royal College of Music Saxophone Ensemble and first performed on 29 June 2007 by the RCM Saxophone Ensemble at the Royal College of Music, London.

A night out in the city was the inspiration behind the work, which begins with hard-edged excitement. The piece then quietens through a calm, thoughtful middle section, gradually slowing into a hushed chorale-like ending, which was composed first, the rest of the material emanating from this final section. © Charlotte Bray
